In the spring of 1987, two friends from Albany Law School set out to build a personal injury law firm that would always strive for excellence and be fully committed to the well-being of its clients.
We are proud to say that on May 1, 2017, the law firm established by John K. Powers and Daniel R. Santola celebrated its 30th anniversary – with our firm’s dedication to their core values as strong as ever.
“We have always been motivated by a genuine desire to protect the rights of the injured at a time when they need it the most and to make a meaningful difference in our clients’ lives,” Mr. Powers said.
Our Commitment to Our Clients
Over the course of three decades, Powers & Santola, LLP, has earned a reputation for our professional and compassionate approach to serving our clients.
When we take on a case, we are meticulous, paying attention to every detail. We are also innovative, using the latest technology and techniques. Consulting with experts, preparing compelling videos and exhibits and conducting mock trials before jury focus groups – those are just a few examples of the many steps that we take on behalf of our clients in order to pursue the compensation they deserve.
At the same time, we never lose sight of what is important to our clients. We get to know them and understand how their injuries or the loss of a loved one has impacted their lives. We pursue results that fully address the harm that our clients have suffered and seek to restore independence, dignity and meaning to their lives.
We are thankful that many clients have shared their experience of working with us through testimonials and by referring us to their friends and family members – the highest compliment that a firm can receive.
Our Tradition of Excellence
From a two-person law firm in Albany, Powers & Santola, LLP, has grown to a team that, today, features five attorneys, including Partners Laura M. Jordan and Margie A. Soehl and Special Counsel Michael J. Hutter Jr. We also feature an additional office in Syracuse.
By staying true to our core values, we have been able to achieve numerous successful results for our clients in a wide range of areas, including cases that involve auto accidents, construction injuries, medical malpractice and defective products. Those results include:
- An $11.6 million recovery on behalf of a medical malpractice client (the largest verdict for an adult in the history of the 11-county Fourth Judicial District)
- A $9.4 million recovery on behalf of a worker who suffered brain damage in a fall from a roof
- A $7.3 million recovery on behalf of a young man who suffered multiple fractures and brain injury in a collision with a commercial truck.
Peers have also recognized our attorneys for their legal skills and ethics. For instance, all five of our attorneys have been named to The Best Lawyers in America, while our firm has been consistently listed among the nation’s “Best Law Firms” by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers.
“It is an honor to receive such recognition, which reflects the hard work of our entire legal team,” Mr. Santola said.
“Of course, we are also very thankful for the trust that our clients have placed in us over the years,” he added. “We are proud of what we have accomplished, and we look forward to serving clients for many years to come.”
